Ubisoft is bringing back Rayman and his friends and as expected, they're once again facing trouble. This time though, they're some exciting changes. Get ready for Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition as it brings with it quality of life improvements, improved resolution, and even new collectibles to uncover.
Rayman Origins was released in November 2011 and considered as an important installment of the franchise. This version has players relive the adventure in an improved way.
So what's new in the enhanced version? Let's start with the visuals. The original textures have been improved and as a result, the game now offers a definition that's aligned with modern expectations.
Accessibility
Another change is Murphy’s Assist. What that means is that players can now access Murphy at the start of previously-completed levels. For those who decide to have him become a companion, he'll be pointing out any remaining hidden treasures and collectibles with a sound cue.
Then there is the Red Heart being replaced with either a Gold or Diamond one. The Gold one protects players from two hits while Diamond protects them from infinite hits. Finally, there's Fairy Blessing. This can be activated in Options and results in players being almost invincible while at the same time obtain free flight and damage enemies.
New Collectibles
Aside from improvements, this edition also brings with it new features. There are the Relics, which was first available in the PS Vita version. It's important to note that these are the hardest to find collectibles hidden across every level. Also introduced with the PS Vita version, players can also get access to Mosaic Gallery. These can be used to unlock origin videos for Rayman and Globox in the Mosaic Gallery.
There are 18 new skins added to the game, which brings the total skins available to 34. The Achievements List has been updated and there are now 39 achievements across all platforms, with 10 new Ubisoft Connect achievements.
Finally, it's about the standees. The original game only had one standee. For this latest edition, 50 new standees have been added. There's also going to be a different standee for each level completed.
